Capacitive deionization

  Research projects

Capacitive deionization (Bart van Limpt)
Capacitive deionization (Ran Zhao)

Capacitive electrosorption with activated carbon electrodes is a new promising technique that has
important advantages when compared to existing techniques for removing salts from water. Capacitive de-ionization combines a high salts removal effi ciency with low use of energy, virtually no chemicals requirement and simple and robust operation. In this theme this technology is further developed.
