New participant: Siemens
Siemens has entered the cooperation in Wetsus as platform participant. Siemens is one of the world players in water technology, and Wetsus is of course very proud and happy with Siemens’ decision to actively participate in the Wetsus network. In Wetsus, Siemens hopes to find strategic cooperation with other companies and knowledge institutes, to develop breakthrough innovations in the field of sustainable water.
Excellent citation impact Wetsus publications
From an independent bibliometric analysis of the papers that were published as result of the Wetsus program over the 2005-2008 period, very positive conclusions were drawn. Of the 35 papers in this period 14 belonged to the top 10% and of this 14, 7 to the top 1% best cited papers in their field. The majority of papers were published in the field of Environment/Ecology. The Citation Impact over the whole period was excellent.
Sensoring project drinking water SAWA
Wetsus will be actively involved in the innovative SAWA project, focusing on Sensors And Water. This project is awarded over € 4 million subsidy from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, EFRO and the Northern provinces. In this project state-of-the-art sensors are developed for drinking water applications. The project is an initiative of Waterlaboratorium Noord, Waterbedrijf Groningen, Waterleiding Maatschappij Drenthe, NOM, Wateralliance en SensorUniverse. Participating are also: AVIC, AquaExplorer BV, Bright Spark BV, Capilix BV, INCAS 3, Interline Systems BV, KWR Watercycle Research Institute, Microdish BV, 2M Sensors LTD, MicroLAN, Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden and Wetsus.
