The Challenge
The Wetsus Water Challenge offers the opportunity to get a first hand experience in the daily work in one of the leading research institutes in water technology in Europe. This event is intended for master students, graduates and post-graduates who are interested in water technology and who aspire to start their career as a PhD student on the cutting edge between academia and industry.
During the challenge, the multiple aspects of water research within Wetsus will be presented. Examples of cooperation between scientific expertise (e.g. universities, knowledge institutes) and industrial practice will be demonstrated. You will get the opportunity to show your abilities and qualifications as a team member in the scientific environment of Wetsus.
If you have a master degree or equivalent (a 4 year program) or going to have a master degree in 2012/2013 in Environtmental technology, Chemical technology, Membrane technology, Chemistry, Physics or Biotechnology we ask you to apply for this 4 day program. If you are interested in doing a PhD project in the Netherlands, the Wetsus Water Challenge is your opportunity to start a successful career in water technology.
Why and How to Apply
The research program of Wetsus is fundamental yet applied. The companies who define the research program have a strong focus on practical innovation and commercial application. PhD students from Wetsus have a strong multidisciplinary background and a well developed sense for commerce and application. On the job market there is an ever increasing need for these unique people.
To participate in the Wetsus Water Challenge the following information is required:
• A curriculum vitae / resume containing:
- Full contact details
- Education details containing at least university and specialization
- (Expected) Graduation date (month / year)
• A motivation letter and / or a project idea describing an approach to solve an arbitrary problem encountered in the water sector not exceeding two pages.
• How you found out about the Wetsus Water Challenge.
The deadline for sending your application is on 1 March 2012
Wetsus pays for the hotel and all meals during the Challenge. Your travel expenses can be claimed at Wetsus up to a maximum of EUR 500,--
