Wetsus Academy/master water technology awarded qualification “good”
Last September, an independent panel of specialists visited Wetsus Academy, to assess the master Water Technology. This accreditation is held every six years, in order to maintain the quality and right level of bachelor and master studies (NVAO standards) in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Wetsus Academy is very happy to receive the qualification “good”. “Good” is defined as: the programme systematically surpasses the generic quality standard.
This qualification recognizes not only the quality and high level of the study programme but also means a recognition of the need for trained water specialists on the job market. This is one of the assessed standards. The prospect to find a suitable job is good. The teaching/learning environment is also assessed as good. De committee was also positive about the integration of the programme with scientific research and companies.
Nelleke van Dorenmalen, director of Wetsus Academy, hopes that the very positive assessment will attract more students for this unique master programme. Future students will be able to quickly find a job, worldwide, after graduation. Van Dorenmalen also points out that the Wetsus Academy, that started as a joint degree in 2013, is still very young and therefore she is extra proud of this qualification.
The facilities, already qualified as good, will improve even more, by moving Wetsus Academy to the Wetsus building, per September 2019.
