Project description:

Recently, the number and occurrence of potentially hazardous micropollutants (MPs) in surface water has raised as a result of increased economic activity and the usage of pharmaceuticals and other substances in society. The presence of these organic anthropogenic compounds represents a risk for human health; therefore, achieving efficient removal of MPs from surface water is crucial to produce safe drinking water.

The aim of this project is to increase the understanding of micropollutant removal using nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) systems.

Tasks:

  • Perform filtration experimental studies with different micropollutants
  • Evaluate different operational conditions
  • Sampling an analysis of samples
  • Interpretation and analysis of data

Type of Project: MSc or BSc Internship / Thesis
Starting date: Febrayry 2023
Duration: ≥6 months
Salary200€ / month
Location: Wetsus – European centre of excellence for sustainable water technology (Leeuwarden, Netherlands)

Your profile:

  • Background in environmental/chemical engineering, or related fields
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, independent, and Interested in laboratory and analytical work
  • Good English communication skills, both writing and spoken;
  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor or Master’s studies
  • Experience with laboratory work is preferred
