ionic
influence

Ionic strength, related to the amount of charged particles in a solution, influences many wastewater treatment processes but is hard to measure in practice and often misused. Wetsus’ wastewater treatment experts collected information from the literature on the composition of the different streams in wastewater treatment plants and deduced the ionic strength of these streams.

With the help of this paper, researchers can now quickly estimate the ionic strength of different streams and draw better conclusions to their investigations and explaining phenomena influenced by charged particles.
