Project description
This project explores how different research intermediaries (knowledge transfer offices, cooperative research centers) support collaboration between universities and industry. Although these intermediaries all aim to accelerate innovation, they operate very differently across the stages of collaborative research, from early idea exploration to long-term partnership management. Your work will help uncover why these differences exist by examining their organizational roles, expertise, networks, funding structures, and overall position within their university or regional ecosystem.
As an intern, you will contribute to collecting and analyzing qualitative data, including interviews with intermediary staff and researchers, and secondary data such as organizational documents and staff profiles. You will help map how these organizations build strategic, economic, cultural, and social network capital to support collaboration, and how these internal characteristics shape their engagement patterns. You will learn how to analyze qualitative data via ATLAS.ti software and report the results of your study for both, academic and general audiences.
