My research focuses on the stability of polyelectrolyte multilayer (PEM) based membranes under harsh conditions (including extreme pH, high salinity, presence of problematic chemicals…). In particular, the research will focus on the further development of PEM-based membranes towards excellent stability under such harsh conditions that can be found in produced water treatment.

Besides, the interfacial interactions at membrane interfaces will be studied to understand and control fouling under such harsh conditions.
